The Observatory of the town of Mladá Boleslav is a dominant feature of the Ninth Elementary School that is located on the northern edge of town, between Mladá Boleslav and Kosmonosy.
The observatory focuses on the popularization of astronomy and natural sciences and their historical development, particularly the reconstruction of ancient measurement methods and equipment. The observatory is equipped with a variety of telescopes, the most dominant of which is a 20-cm-diameter Cassegrain telescope. The current opening hours, the programme and further information are listed on the website.
The observatory is open every Friday during the school year. The time varies according to each particular month; for more information, see the website. Schools and other closed groups can make individual appointments and request customized programmes.
