The Jewish cemetery (see metal trail) is located on the outskirts of Mladá Boleslav, in the area below the castle, on a slope by the old road to Prague. In the oldest part, dating back to the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries, we find the grave of the important financier Jacob Bassevi, the first Jew in the Habsburg monarchy to be elevated to nobility.
The gravestones constitute a unique open-air gallery. Their origin spans across four centuries.
The Jewish cemetery is open to public daily except for Saturdays and other Jewish festive days. The key is available against a deposit in the tourist centre in Mladá Boleslav, in the Museum of the Mladá Boleslav Region, or from the cemetery manager (Mr. Žák, mobile: 607 754 038).Opening hours
