Hrubý Rohozec chateau is one of the dominating features and oldest monuments of the Turnovsko region. It was established in the 2nd half of the 13th century and in the past was re-built several times. It served as the family residence of the Vartenberk, Krajíř and Desfours families.

Hrubý Rohozec state chateau, surrounded by a modest English park, offers visitors more than twenty richly furnished rooms that in the past served as representative and residential rooms of members of the Des Fours Walderode noble family of French origin.

The building is managed by the National Heritage Institute – regional office in Liberec.
